Friends of the Lakeview Post Office Mural is a non-profit community organization founded in June 2001 for the purpose of restoring the mural in the Lakeview post office. The Fine Arts Section of the United States Department of the Treasury commissioned the mural in 1937 for the newly constructed post office in Chicago, Illinois. The mural painted by Harry Sternberg is entitled: â€œCHICAGO: EPOCH OF A GREAT CITYâ€.

PARMA Conservation, Chicago, Illinois in August 2003, completed the mural restoration and the restored mural was rededicated on September 20, 2003. Elizabeth Kendall and Peter Schoenmann performed the conservation with the mural in situ.
